About me:
I'm a quantum engineer working on how to get more out of quantum systems before they lose their fragile information to the surrounding environment - a challenge that underpins next-generation quantum sensing, secure quantum networking, and quantum computing. In practice, this means finding ways to simultaneously preserve these delicate quantum states for longer whilst also executing faster control operations, together translating to more precise and more reliable quantum technologies.
My experimental work focuses on a specific system called boron vacancies, found in a 2D material called hexagonal boron nitride. These tiny atomic-scale defects trap single electrons, even at room temperature. Broader research specialisms include:
- Designing and testing new quantum control techniques
- Working with 2D materials
- Microwave and radio-frequency spin control
- Imaging with laser scanning confocal microscopy
Collaboration is essential to this work. I'm particularly interested in connecting with people working on materials synthesis, alternative quantum sensing systems, or control and estimation methods - from academia or industry alike.
