Overview
David obtained his BSc in Renewable Energy from the University of Exeter in 2015, receiving his PhD in Renewable Energy for his thesis entitled 'Study and Development of the Zinc Electrode for the Zinc-Nickel Redox Flow Battery' from the University of Exeter in 2020. Following this, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate on the EPSRC funded project 'Zinc-Nickel Redox Flow Battery for Energy Storage' and as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on the Horizon 2020 funded 'MELODY: Membraneless Low Cost High Power Density RFB' project.
In addition, David has worked as a Digital Learning Developer at the University of Exeter, developing digital education resources and a blended learning environment in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and was the principle investigator on the ALDinHE funded project 'Student-Staff Co-Creation of Virtual Environments for Simulated Field Trips'.
Currently, David is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow on the EPSRC funded 'ZERO-electro' project, investigating novel non-invasive electrochemical techniques for the refining of green technology metals from geological materials.
His research interests are in the fields of electrochemistry and energy stotage, with a particular focus on novel battery technologies and the related areas of electrochemistry, electrode materials, fluid dynamics and cell design.
