Overview

Ceri Howells is a Lecturer in the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences (CEMPS). Ceri recently accepted the position of Lecturer at the University, where he is co-developing multi-disciplinary Gold Standard Projetc Based Learning (GSPBL) modules with Dr Corrina Cory.

His academic background in integrated engineering, sustainable energy and environmental protection feed into the technical aspects of the new modules as well as providing students with the skills and mindset required to keep up to date with rapidly evolving technology during the fourth industrial revolution (4IR). 

In 2020, Ceri acted as Academic lead for the Elevate competition in partnership with the Student Start-Up team, funded by the Engineers in Business Fellowship. This collaboration saw successful teams at the University awarded with a cash prize and the opportunity for 2 teams to progress to the Engineers in Business Competition Final. Upon which, PETexe were awarded the 'Champion of Champions' in the startup category and BioSmart were awarded the runners up prize in the 'Big Ideas' category; showcasing the importance of teaching Engineering & Entrepreneurship in higher education.
