Overview

I am a QUEX Institute PhD student, commencing in January 2022. My supervisor at Exeter is Prof. Fayyaz Memon, and my supervisors at UQ are Prof. Steven Kenway and Prof. Kate O'Brien. I previously completed a Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering (Chemical and Biological) at University of Queensland in 2019.

The broad aim of my PhD is to enable a net zero carbon emissions water cycle to protect vulnerable communities and future generations from negative impacts of climate change, including water security. The focus is on minimising residential water use, and its related energy use and carbon emissions, while ensuring that the proposed solutions do not shift burdens to other sectors, or to vulnerable customers. It is envisioned that this will be achieved through analysis of high-resolution water and energy datasets to conduct dynamic modelling of the impacts of selected interventions and determine optimal solutions.
