Dr Carlos L. Bassani

Carlos L. Bassani is Senior Lecturer at the University of Exeter in the Department of Engineering. He holds a dual doctorate in Chemical Engineering from Mines Saint-Etienne (France) and in Mechanical and Materials Engineering from UTFPR (Brazil) followed by a postdoc at FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg (Germany). He received several honors, including an ERC Starting Grant, a Humboldt Research Fellowship, and the Thesis Award from the Brazilian Foundation for Science (CAPES). His research centers on modeling and developing simulation methods for crystal growth from solution, including the emergence of faceted nanocrystals, porous mesostructures, and aggregates under flow.
