Dr Ehsan Gholamalizadeh is a Senior Lecturer in Engineering at the University of Exeter, specialising in Applied Computational Engineering, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Thermal Engineering, optimisation, and sustainable energy technologies.
His research focuses on the development and application of advanced computational methods to address engineering challenges in energy conversion, thermal systems, renewable energy, energy storage, and sustainable technologies. His work combines CFD, numerical modelling, optimisation algorithms, and machine learning to analyse, design, and improve the performance, efficiency, and sustainability of engineering systems.
His research interests include renewable energy systems, wave energy, solar thermal technologies, wind energy, electric vehicles, lithium-ion battery thermal management, thermal energy storage, multiphase flows, heat transfer, and computational optimisation.
Dr Gholamalizadeh has experience in funded research as both Principal Investigator and Co-Investigator, including independently led and collaborative research projects. Further details are available on his Research page.
