Dr. Shuyue Lin joined the University of Exeter (Penryn campus) in February 2025 as a Lecturer in Energy Systems Technology.

Previously, she was a Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Hull (September 2021 – February 2025), where she served as Interim Programme Director for the BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) and the MSc in Energy Engineering. She also held roles as Exchange Student Coordinator and Faculty Advisor for the Hull Electric Racing Team. Before that, she was an Assistant Professor at Fuzhou University, China (2020–2021) and had industry experience as electrical engineer in China (2013–2014).

Her research interests include intelligent control and grid integration of wind energy, and intelligent fault detection and diagnosis in power systems.

She welcomes applications from prospective PhD students with a background in electrical engineering, control systems, machine learning, or related disciplines, especially those with an interest in AI applications in renewable energy systems. Funded PhD opportunity is available. She also encourages applications from self-funded students or those supported by external scholarships (such as the China Scholarship Council, CSC). She is open to host visiting students, visiting academics, and postdoctoral researchers through Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship, the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship, and other similar schemes.
