Dr. Shuyue Lin joined the University of Exeter (Penryn campus) in February 2025 as a Lecturer in Energy Systems Technology.

 

Previously, she was a Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Hull (September 2021 – February 2025), where she served as Interim Programme Director for the BEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) and the MSc in Energy Engineering. She also held roles as Exchange Student Coordinator and Faculty Advisor for the Hull Electric Racing Team. Before that, she was an Assistant Professor at Fuzhou University, China (2020–2021) and had industry experience as electrical engineer in China (2013–2014).

 

Her research interests include intelligent control and grid integration of wind energy, and intelligent fault detection and diagnosis in power systems.

 

She welcomes applications from prospective PhD students from prospective PhD students with a background in electrical power engineering, control systems, machine learning, or related disciplines. A funded PhD position is available. Applications from self-funded students or those supported by external scholarships (such as the China Scholarship Council, CSC) are also strongly encouraged.


She is open to research collaborations, hosting visiting students, visiting academics, and postdoctoral researchers through schemes such as the Leverhulme Trust Early Career Fellowship, the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship, and others.
