Water Security is an important issue

Launch of GW4 Water Security Alliance

The Universities of Cardiff, Bristol, Bath and Exeter formed the Water Security Alliance, recently launching in Bristol.

The group won an accelerator grant from the GW4 Building Communities Programme. The aims are to foster and develop further new collaborations and engage with relevant stakeholders. Water security has been identified by the World Economic Forum as one of the most significant long-term risks facing the world over the next decade. As a consequence, it is an explicit theme for the Global Challenges Research Funding agenda. Plans include a series of workshops, including one on Smart Water at the University of Exeter.
