Safe&SuRe work with Scottish Water

In August a team from Professor David Butler’s Safe&SuRe project visited Scottish Water for a workshop to help the provider with the development of its wastewater resilience programme.

This was part of a wider range of impact activities for the Safe&SuRe fellowship, which has an overall mission to develop a new paradigm for water management in the UK in response to emerging challenges in the industry.

In particular, the team has developed a set of definitions and concepts through a framework that enables water problems to be addressed in a holistic manner – these ideas were shared in the workshop.

Dr Kate Baker, Research Fellow on the project, said “Scottish Water was keen to learn about the findings from the Safe&SuRe fellowship, and to explore a working relationship with us. There is continued significance placed on the impact of research, and Safe&SuRe’s work with major water providers in the UK couldn’t be a better illustration of a successful working partnership between a university and industry.”
