Water Industry Forum and Safe & SuRe organise day event: Delivering Resilience in PR19 and Beyond

The regional water companies are in the process of preparing their 5 year business plans for submission to Ofwat as part of Ofwat’s price review process (PR19) which will set the price, investment and service package that customers will receive over the period 2020-2025. One of the four key themes that Ofwat has focused on for PR19 is ‘resilience’.

This seminar, developed in association with the Exeter University Safe & SuRe team, aims to share learning to date around what has already been done to deliver improved resilience, both within the water industry, and from other sectors. There will be two panel/audience discussions focused on the following topics:

• Smart Resilience - How do we apply a systems thinking approach?
• Resilience Metrics - What do forward looking measures look like?

The seminar will commence with two scene-setting presentations on the subject of resilience from Ofwat and Exeter University. The remaining speakers will then cover a range of case studies drawn from the following organisations:

• Highways Agency
• Heathrow Airport
• Dwr Cymru Welsh Water
• Scottish Water
• Severn Trent Water
• United Utilities
• Yorkshire Water
