Adam Feldman
Adam Feldman brings a range of skills to the teaching of Engineering and Renewable Energy. Originally qualified in Medicine, he practiced as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon both within the NHS and privately. For 20 years he taught clinical medicine and surgery at both undergraduate and high postgraduate levels.
Always interested in energy and especially Renewable Energy, he chose to formally study the subject at degree level, changing his active career from medicine to energy engineering. Associate Professor in Renewable Energy Engineering until his retirement in August 2024.
Fascinated not only by current and future proposals in the energy fields, Adam has long and deep appreciation of the history and development of science and engineering. He is well placed to offer inspirational teaching and training to science and engineering students across all age-ranges and experience.
Areas of expertise include -
Energy storage techniques, particularly electrochemical energy-interchange between hydrogen and electricity.
Sustainable architecture, minimisation of carbon-footprint and energy use within the built environment.
Applied thermodynamics - with specific interest in the Stirling closed hot-'air' cycle.
Professional ethics within the fields of engineering.
