Overview

Lavanya earned her PhD in Operations and Supply Chain Management from IIM, Mumbai (formerly known as NITIE, Mumbai). Currently, she serves as a Lecturer in Operations and Supply Chain Optimization at the ExDes Lab. Before joining the University of Exeter, Lavanya worked as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University. During her time at RSM, she contributed to two Horizon 2020 funded projects focused on Sustainable and Smart Ports development and the optimization of logistics networks in international corridors linking Europe and Asia. During her PhD at IIM, Mumbai, Lavanya worked on sustainable packaging issues within supply chains. 

Lavanya's teaching interests revolve around the fields of Operations Research, Operations and Supply Chain Management, and their intersection with Sustainability. Her Research interests span Sustainable and Smart Logistics, Supply Chain Modelling, and Application of Large-scale optimization to Supply Chain Operations.
