Overview

Mubarak is a long-standing student at the University of Exeter, having previously spent four years at the College of Life and Environmental Sciences. In 2015, he graduated with a First Class Honours in Exercise and Sports Sciences (BSc) and in 2016, following a full scholarship, he graduated with a Distinction in Sport and Health Sciences (MSc), which culminated in outstanding biomechanics dissertations. Both independent research projects focused on the effects of footwear and footstrike modality on lower extremity injury. During those four years, Mubarak was awarded both College and Dean’s Commendation’s for high academic excellence.

Mubarak has actively engaged in various research projects and/or data collection and data analysis, which includes: work with the Exeter Chiefs Rugby Club, Exeter City Football Club and a significant role with the Royal Marines.

He joined the Vibration Engineering Section in September 2016, immediately following the completion of his MSc, after being awarded a fully funded EPSRC DTP scholarship. His PhD is under the supervision of Professor Aleksandar Pavic and Dr Victoria Goodwin. His PhD will take a multidisciplinary approach, with expertise from biomechanics, engineering and the Medical School.
