Mr Sina Safari

Sina is a PhD student in the College of Engineering, Mathematics, and Physical Science (CEMPS) at the University of Exeter. He graduated from the University of Tabriz with a MSc in Hydraulic structures. He Joined Vibration Engineering Section (VES) group under Supervision of Dr. Julian M. Londono Monsalve being awarded a fully funded scholarship.

He carried out research on Fluid-Structure Interaction (FSI) in underground and aboveground liquid storage tanks under seismic loading, inelastic behavior of structures equipped with damping and base-isolation devices and performance based optimization. His current research topic is titled “Testing and modelling modern engineering structures under extreme operational conditions” focusing on Airplane and Aerospace structures. His research interests include: Structural dynamics, Earthquake Engineering and Seismic Design, Structural control, Structural Health Monitoring, Nonlinear System Identification (NSI), Experimental Testing, Modelling and simulation of nonlinear systems.
