Clean Energy Engineering and Decarbonisation addresses possibly the most important challenge facing society; decarbonisation of energy generation and use. The Theme covers aspects of this including energy generation from offshore sources, wind and solar, energy storage, and life-cycle analysis of energy systems; distribution of power through smart networks; and its use in transport, particularly commercial use.

Highlighted Grant: GW-SHIFT

GW-SHIFT aims to accelerate the impact of research in low carbon hydrogen, contributing to securing the UK’s Net Zero 2050 targets. This programme is co-directed by the Universities of Bath and Exeter, and brings together researchers from across the GW4 Alliance of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter universities alongside Swansea, South Wales, and Plymouth.
